Day 13 – How soon is now? by The Smiths

When listening to this song two ideas came to mind the tv show Charmed so I thought of doing something with a witch casting a spell and my other idea was to write about my shyness which would be much harder.  I decided to go with the harder one.

Day 14 – Suit & Tie by Justin Timberlake

I was going to do a penguin with a bow tie but decided instead of doing that I would do a regular tie.

Day 15 – Jackson by Johnny Cash 

I had planned on doing someone dancing on a keg but decided instead I preferred drawing a horse/pony with a keg body.

Day 16 – We Will Become Silhouettes by The Shins

I didn’t listen to the song I just pulled up the lyrics and the last line caught my eye.  I took it as when people die they become silhouettes/ghosts/memories.  So I created two silhouettes and one where a woman has died and is slowly turning into a silhouette/ghost/memory. I did eventually listen to the song and know its about atomic bombs.

Day 9 – Palisades Park by Counting Crows

I tried to draw part of a pinball machine.  I should have drawn more on the blue since pinball machines tend to have a lot of art or pictures.

This did not come out how I would have liked and the handwriting made it even worse.  If I have time at some point I may redo the handwriting.

Day 5 – Second Hand News by Fleetwood Mac

The scanner does not like neon or metallic colors.  The eyes and shirt on the guy in the middle are neon yellow and the propellers on his hat are a metallic silver.

Day 6 – Don’t Carry it All by The Decemberists

Day 7 – Through the Dark by Alexi Murdoch

I wanted sad eyes crying with mascara running.  However her eyes look angry.  I still like how it came out though.

Day 8 – Another is Waiting by The Avett Brothers

I really like how my rose came out.  I thought I was going to have trouble drawing it but it came out really well.

I decided to participate in NaNoJouMo again this year.  NaNoJouMo is hosted by Dawn D. Sokel.  Everyday for the entire month of November Dawn posts a prompt for us to work on. The prompts this year are songs.

I am behind on posting so I will be posting two posts per day until I am caught up. Then I will post one or two per week.

Day 1 –  Royals by Lorde

The background was one I created last year for a NaNoJouMo prompt but it was too busy for what I wanted to so it was never used.  I really wanted to use it for this prompt.  The first idea I had wasn’t going to work because of the background so I decided to keep it simple.  The female sihlouette is one I created last year.  Before using it I scanned it and saved it so I could use it whenever I wanted.

Day 2 – American Woman by Lenny Kravitz

Day 3 – From Eden by Hozier

I really like how this one turned out.  I got the idea from just reading the title. Once I finished drawing it I decided to look at the lyrics and see if there was anything I could use.

Day 4 – How Far this Road Goes by Gareth Dunlop

I messed the sky really bad and was ready to just start over but then somehow I was able to fix it enough that I was ok with it.
