Foam Stamps
Over a week ago I created some foam stamps using some foam shapes my mom had bought me. I attached the foam shapes to the front and back of some acrylic blocks using e600 glue. I first only added one foam piece but noticed it was too thin and ink would also get on the block so when pressed onto a paper the ink on the block would also show up unless I cleaned it. So I decided to attach another piece on top of the first foam piece and that worked better.
I don’t have many foam stamps and the ones I have I hardly ever use so I wasn’t sure if I would like them. After trying them a few times I have decided I like them and I plan on getting foam sheets so that I can create my own foam shapes. Hopefully I can find some thick foam sheets. I did notice that if the foam has markings on it like the smiley faces on the moon, stars and sun it can be visible in the impression. If I turn pre-made foam shapes into stamps again I will have to make sure that its not on the side that will be inked. However I do like how it looks with the skull stamps.

Art Journal Pages for the Week
This was not a good week for art journaling. These pages are rather blah. I especially dislike the second one.
The first one I could see a face in that mess but after staring at it for a long time and trying to figure out how to draw it without messing it up; I gave up and went with what you see. For the second one I had started it well over a month ago but I added some circles and didn’t like how it looked especially the ones at the top. I didn’t know how to fix it at the time so I just ignored the page. Now that I am almost done with this journal I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I covered the horrible circles on the top with washi tape and tried my best to fix the ones at the bottom. I then added some butterflies and decided it was done because I just couldn’t think of anything that would make it better.
I was informed this week by my husband that my page backgrounds tend to use a lot of dark colors. I hadn’t really noticed that. So I will try to do more light colored backgrounds.

Textured Abstracts ATC Series
While spackling some holes that were created when a book shelf fell I came up with the idea of using the spackling when creating some atcs. I created a total of six cards. I had fun playing with the spackling but I didn’t have a lot of it left so once I purchase some more I will make more atcs. I’m also thinking about using spackling for the cover of my art journal.
I like how this series turned out. My favorite is “Abstract 1”.

New ATCs
Yesterday I was feeling very creative. I worked on several atcs, a few art journal pages and an art piece for my husband. I was so in the zone I forgot to have breakfast and lunch. By the time I realized I hadn’t eaten it was almost time for dinner. Oh well! I was having too much fun!
Here are the atcs I was able to finish yesterday. I will probably have a few more at the end of the week depending on how busy I get. The first four atcs I had already created the backgrounds back in February. I really like the letter buttons I used on the first four. I purchased them at a scrapbooking convention earlier this year. I only got one bag and I really wish I had purchased more as I am having a hard time finding more.
