Below is my completed first week of the Daily Drawing Planner. I created all the drawings using Sakura Identi-Pens, Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Uni-Posca Paint Markers.
Even though the Daily Drawing Planner started on January 1st, if you are interested in participating you can do so at any time. You can go here for more information and to download the planner.

Daily Drawing Planner – January’s Theme
January’s theme for the Daily Drawing Planner is Winter Wonderland. Remember that the theme is always optional; you can also do your own theme or none at all.
You can share your drawings in the facebook group or on any other social media using #dailydrawingplanner or #dailydrawingplanner2016.
I can’t wait to see all your drawings!

A New Art Challenge for 2016
Can you believe the year is almost over? In just a few short days 2016 will be upon us.
So I figured this would be a good time to mention a challenge I am starting up in the new year. I’ve had this idea for over a year but kept putting it off. Then a few months ago I mentioned it to a friend and she thought it was a good idea.
The challenge is called Daily Drawing Planner Challenge and will begin January 1st. This planner will be different as its not meant for you to jot down your appointments or regular to-do lists. It is meant to get you to create art everyday but on a small scale. Basically its a planner for artists that includes an art challenge.
The daily drawings can be based on that month’s theme, your own theme or no theme at all. Each month not only has that months calendar with space to draw/create in but it also has a few other extras. The beginning of each month will have a section to create a doodle. It can be based on the theme or not at all. You could work on it in one sitting, a little everyday or however you like. Each month I have given you an inspirational or motivational quote from painters, musicians and others. There is also a question each month that you can answer, a section to list your art projects for the month, a section to list the mediums you used each month to create your drawings and a section for notes and ideas.
I also created a Facebook group where you can share your art. You can click here or search on Facebook for Daily Drawing Planner. You can also share on other social media by using any of the following two hashtags.
#dailydrawingplanner or #dailydrawingplanner2016
If you are interested in participating, you can download the pdf here or by clicking the image below.

ICAD Challenge Slideshow
This is just a quick post. I’ve been trying to create this slideshow for a while but was having trouble completing it since it would get stuck uploading the photos. Then I had art-a-thon responsibilities so it got pushed aside. I finally had a chance today to see what the problem was and determined it was due to some bad picture files. I deleted them and voilĂ no more issues.
This summer I participated in Daisy Yellow’s ICAD Challenge where you create art everyday on index cards during June & July. It was my first time participating in the challenge. I enjoyed the challenge and may participate again next year. Though I might get standard sized index cards as an added challenge since the space is smaller and not my preferred size of about 6 x 9.
Below is a slideshow of all the art I created during the challenge. Eventually they will go into the portfolio section.

Radiant Faces: Inner Child
Lesson Two: Inner Child was taught by Tamara Laporte.
I really liked working in this style. It felt much more natural and easier to do.
I chose to have my inner child hold a book because I love reading. Since the age of one I was always fascinated with books and tried to read even if the books were upside down. Reading is a fun little escape from reality for me. I did pigtails because I loved having them done on me when I was young. I also loved watching Scooby Doo. I was very shy growing up and still sort of am and I tried to show that. Though I am not sure if I was successful at that.
The sketch below was created during ICAD. The completed piece pretty much looks exactly like it.
To create this piece I used Staedtler Watercolor Crayons, Sharpie China Marker, Posca Paint Markers, Crayola Colored Pencils and Distress Inks. I love how it turned out. So much so that I don’t mind sharing her. I’m thinking about creating prints and possibly postcards to sell on my etsy store.
I’m not sure when I will be able to work on the other lessons since Radiant II and Inktober both start in 2 weeks. I’m also getting things ready for the 13 Hour Halloween Art-a-thon which is towards the end of October and I need to start working on some Christmas gifts. If I can squeeze in at least lesson three before October I will do so but no guarantees.
