The Documented Life Project: Week 29

The prompt for week 29  was to make a wishlist.

I decided to keep it simple this week.  After gessoing the pages I dipped a wet brush into fluid water colors then tapped the brush on my left hand to create the splatters.  I cut up an old manila folder and created the little pocket to store the wishes. The little tags in the pocket were also created with the old manila folders.  One side of the tag has my wish with doodles and the other side just has doodles.

The Documented Life Project: Week 28

Since half the year has gone by I decided to create a spread to acknowledge it.

I’m not too fond of my July calendar.  It could have been better but certain things didn’t work out like I had hoped.  There are a total of 50 stars; 31 for the days and 19 little stars.

The week 28 prompt is to add an instagram or tiny photo.

Since next week on the 15th is Chessie’s birthday I decided to create the prompt using a picture of Chessie.  I created the background using torn strips of an old London road map and an advertisement that had patterns on it. The road map had letters and numbers on it, so since Chessie is turning 4 I made sure the 4 was still visible and I left the letter C visible as well since its her first initial. I painted over it with a purple acrylic wash so parts of it would still be visible. I used a black and a blue Sakura Identi-Pen and a white Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen for the doodles.

The Documented Life Project: Week 26 & Week 27

I had no computer for several days but now everything is working.  I finally caught up with all the Documented Life Prompts last week.

The prompt for week 26 was to add a bible verse or a line from your favorite book that inspires you.

The quote is from a series that used to be my favorite but then the novels started to be a disappointment so its no longer my favorite but I still like this quote from one of the earlier books in the series.  I also created a mini zine since I am thinking about signing up for the 24 Hour Zine Challenge. It is sloppy and has some errors like double words, etc but not too bad for creating it in well under 10 minutes. I took pictures of the mini zine and put it in a slideshow since there are quite a few.

The prompt for week 27 was to add a crossword, word search or Sudoku puzzle.

For the prompt I knew I wanted to use sudoku puzzles and keep it simple.  I used puzzles from an old book, some punchinella to create the small circles, a prescription top for the larger circles and 1 inch vinyl sticker numbers. I like how this turned out.

The Documented Life Project: Week 24 & Week 25

The week 24 prompt was to use book text.

I really like how how she turned out.  I was originally going to add a portion of the legs that would fit on the page but thought it looked weird.  But now it kinda looks like she is legless and floating. That is the only issue I have with her.

The week 25 prompt was to cover your flap in hearts.

Even though this weeks prompt was hearts my focus on this spread wasn’t the hearts it was about the Gettysburg Ingress Interitus Anamoly that my husband and I attended during the weekend. I used only green since we are part of the Enlightened faction in the Ingress game and that is the color for the faction. Since everything was kept hush hush and there were lots of verifications in order to join the group for the the event I decided to create a top secret folder with the info and plans we received. While in Gettysburg we also did the auto tour.

The Documented Life Project: Week 22 & Week 23

    Slowly playing catch up.

The week 22 prompt was to draw, paint or sketch a house.

Before having surgery during this week I was able to create the page about the local farm and the house.  I was still not feeling very creative this week as I was stressing about the surgery.  The rest of the pages I created last week.

Besides pages based on the week’s events I also created a spread about the hallucination I had during surgery.  The anesthesiologist gave me some extra meds to insure if the anesthesia didn’t work this time I would still not feel anything.  The last time I had hand surgery with a different doctor the anesthesia didn’t work and I was awake and felt everything during the surgery. It was horrible.  This time around it went a lot better.  As the surgery started everything faded into a hallucination where I was surrounded by these huge floating cubes in the Ingress faction colors and I was jumping from one to the other with a small group of people.  At one point I felt a little pain and suddenly a path appeared with a cute pink elephant and all I wanted to do was catch the pink elephant but every time I got close to it, it seemed to be further and further away. When the surgery was over the hallucination started to fade away and part of me didn’t want the pink elephant to go away.

I decided to attach the card I received after surgery that was signed by the surgical staff. On the back of the card I added pictures of the get well flowers my husband gave me.
