    Art by Rhonda Chase

Rhonda Chase is a portrait artist from Oregon.  Her works include portraits and whimsical creatures.  I came across her art on kickstarter; through her Creature Card Creation Project.  I immediately fell in love with her creatures and I decided to back her project.

The Creature Card Project is a personal goal of hers to push herself artistically and personally by creating art everyday for a year. Once she created a creature card she would post it on listia; where people could try to win it.  The project originally started January of 2012 but due to the costs of supplies and shipping her art to the winners she could not afford to do the last six months.  The kickstarter project was to help with the costs of creating creature cards and covering the costs of shipping.  Her project was successfully funded on December 31st at $1081 which was double her goal.

On January 4th she posted her first creature and everyday for the next 6 months she will post a creature card that you can enter to win.  All you have to do is comment that you wish to be entered on the post for the creature. After 7 days a winner is chosen at random.  The only rule is that you can only win 1 creature card a month.  Pretty awesome right?

If you don’t win the creature card you can purchase an open edition print of the card or of any of her previous creature cards from her shop.  You can even buy coloring cards of several of the creatures which you can color and paint yourself.  If you don’t see the creature you are looking for you can contact Rhonda and ask her.

Rhonda doesn’t just do creature cards.  Her specialty is portraiture.  Her portraits are amazing.  They are very life like. You can view her portraits under the home tab of her website.  If you are interested in commissioning a portrait please contact Rhonda.

You can follow Rhonda on Twitter @ChaseRhonda, Facebook and through her website to keep updated on her art.  You can also visit her shop to purchase original, open or limited editions of her art.  Remember to check her blog everyday to see what new creature is available for you to win.

    Art by Nikki Ward

Nikki Ward is a comic artist and illustrator from Texas.  Her works include chibis, My Little Pony and Alice vs ALICE just to name a few.  I came across her art through her kickstarter project My First Artist Alley. The project was to produce and promote her artwork at the Austin Comic Con that was held in October. Her project did really well as it was funded 802% of the $400.00 needed which was a total of $3,208.  Due to her project doing so well she was able to also promote her art at Ikkicon in December and will possibly be able to also promote her art at A-Kon this coming June.

Nikki’s kickstarter project was the first project I came across and backed.  I backed her project without looking at her gallery.  I saw the image of her project which was Alice vs ALICE – You’re NOT affiliated with me!! drawing and I knew I had to back the project.  I love American McGee’s Alice and recently I have been hooked on dark versions of Alice in Wonderland though I am not a big fan of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and I have never read Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

I love all her work but my favorites are the Alice vs ALICE drawings and comics.  My favorite Alice vs ALICE strip is Painting the Roses Red.

You can follow Nikki on Twitter @bionicfox, Facebook and on Deviant Art for updates on her art.  You can also purchase some of her art at her etsy store Spiral Moon Studios.

    Art by Jessica Cathryn Feinberg

Jessica Cathryn Feinberg is a fantasy artist from Arizona.  Her works include dragons, elementals, faeries and steampunk just to name a few. I first came across her art through her Kickstarter project called Elementals.  The project was to help expand her Elemental Series with Chocolate, Coffee and Vanilla Elements.  After looking at her gallery I decided to help back her kickstarter project.  Her project was funded November 3rd and because it surpassed its goal she was also able to create Blueberry and Strawberry Elements.

She currently has another kickstarter project called Oracle of the Otherworld.  This project is to help fund an oracle or tarot deck that features fantasy inspired watercolor paintings. Below is her video for the kickstarter project.

If you wish to help back her new kickstarter project please visit Oracle of the Otherworld Cards.  There are various pledge levels but you can back her project with any amount you like.  The project will only be funded if it reaches the goal of $2,800 by January 31st.

You can follow Jessica on Twitter @JCFeinberg, Facebook or visit her website ArtLair for updates on her art and projects.  You can purchase prints from her Elemental Series, as well as books, posters and more at her store.

Here is my kickstarter pledge reward from her Elementals project.  This is a print of the Coffee Elemental Watercolor Painting.
