Zines Now Available!
Earlier this week I listed my zines for sale on etsy. Currently only physical copies are available. PDFs of all the zines will be available soon. I had planned on having the pdfs available by the end of this week but the program I was using keeps glitching.
Currently I am working on another short story zine and an art zine with a theme. I haven’t narrowed down the theme yet though.

The Documented Life Project: Week 17
The week 17 prompt was to photograph or draw your favorite shoes.
I don’t have a favorite shoe. I also don’t own many pairs of shoes. I have never seen the point of owning so many shoes so I only own what I need. I decided to draw the sneakers that I use the most. I think it came out pretty well. Unfortunately I didn’t use watercolor paper so the paper I used was thin for watercolors and became a bit wrinkly. The background was dark and since the sneaker is black I decided to do a border so it would stand out a bit.
Here is an image of the actual shoe.

Zines!
Last week I received the copies of my zines. I was very excited to finally receive them especially my short story zine. I had the short story zine printed in color, black & white and a limited edition color copy with a thick cover. The limited edition will also have an original artist trading card with it. Besides the short story there are also 3 zines with images of my favorite and popular art pieces from last year in the following categories, art journaling, artist trading cards and drawings & doodles. There is also a small one that is of my favorite story from childhood which I have illustrated.
I spent all of last week folding and stapling them together. I hope to have the art zines up for sale on my etsy store this week and the short story will be up for sale next week.

The Documented Life Project: Week 16
The week 16 prompt was to add cardboard from a food box in a creative way.
I used the cardboard from a gluten free cereal called Koala Crisps. The background is supposed to be a blueish grey and was supposed to be a wash but I didn’t use enough water. I was going to cut out a koala fact from the box but something else I cut out cut part of it so instead I just wrote it at the bottom.

The Documented Life Project: Week 15
The prompt for week 15 was to be monochromatic. Using shades, tints and hues of one color.
I decided to use shades of blue and use very little white and black. The background is an acrylic wash. The big water drops I created using label paper, sharpie, white gel pen and distress inks. The checklist is on a post it. The girl was created with a torn dictionary page, watercolor paper, sharpies and watercolors. The small drops were created with pearlescent acrylic paint marker, white gel pen and sharpie.
