NaNoJouMo & Art Every Day Month Day 8
Today’s NaNoJouMo prompt is “1000 Years” by Sting.
When I heard the song the first thing that came to mind was the show Doctor Who. I have Doctor Who on the brain lately since I’m really looking forward to the 50th anniversary special and have been re-watching the episodes on Netflix. So the first thing to come to mind was Doctor Who; more specifically the Doctor’s and Rose’s love for each other. I planned to do a transfer of Rose on the page so it would look sort of out of focus or like a vision but it didn’t work out. It went horribly wrong. So I then decided to just try to paint Rose. Due to the transfer mess I had to make it larger than I wanted. Unfortunately it doesn’t really look like Rose. I also glued the TARDIS too high and barely had space to write. Over all though I like it; I don’t love it but I like it.

NaNoJouMo Day 7
Today’s prompt is “Lovestain” by Jose Gonzalez.
I had never heard of this song or of the musician. I believe the song is about heart break. I painted a heart on cardstock and once I cut it out I almost tore it in half. Then I sewed it back together so it would look like a mended heart. Once I glued it on the page I dripped red india ink through the tear and let it drip down. I then took the first line of the song and created the message.

NaNoJouMo Day 6
Today’s prompt is “Gravity” by John Mayer.
Finally a song that I have heard before. The first thing that came to mind when hearing it was a vortex or a spinning tunnel leading to a dark place. I figured I would do a tile with the tangle vortex and another with the tangle paradox and see which I liked more. I liked paradox better. After that I had no idea where I was going. I listened to the song again and then sat there and stared at the page for about 5 minutes and then finished it up. My hand was a bit shakey so my handwriting came out messy. Probably too much art. Been busy not only doing NaNoJouMo but I’ve been doing AEDM, working on over 80 Christmas ATCs and some swaps. I will probably have to take a break from the atcs for a few days so I can have my hand relax a bit.

NaNoJouMo Day 5
Today’s prompt is Flowers in Your Hair by The Lumineers.
I had never heard this song before. I couldn’t get anything from this song. I heard it several times and still nothing. So I did the best I could.

NaNoJouMo Day 4
Today’s prompt is These are the Days by Van Morrison.
I had this idea of representing past events with bubbles or circles and connecting them with lines and then having unfinished lines representing future events. It didn’t come out like I wanted. I then decided to add a sihloette of an elderly couple dancing underneath all those events.
